Do it. Butuan is a city where you can get the best of both rural and urban communities. If you want to go shopping and take in the city life, there are malls, bars, karaoke bars. If you want to escape the busy city life, you can go to the beach which is less than an hour away. The nearest white sandy beaches though are more than an hour ride. When it comes to looking for a place to live, I suggest not going too far from the city’s water source. I used to work in the city’s water district and I’ve seen a handful of foreigners complaining about the water pressure because they weren’t used to it. There was one American who compared Butuan to the state where he used to live. You can’t compare Butuan to New York, sir. LOL
