I married a Filipina and we had to live somewhere. We had lived in Malaysia for 8 years, but on retirement there wasn’t much I could do there, even though we like (and miss) the place. So we settled in my wife’s home town, and bought a farm, on which we have built a rest house. Farming keeps me busy…
Please briefly explain why you feel this answer should be reported.
I am not retire but know why. People rather retire there because everything there is affordable and fun in The Philippines. It is also quiet if you live in a non-busy city, not that safe unless you have noticed that you should lock your doors and windows and not let a single weakness go in then it would be safe and it’s beautiful, just ignore the polution, weird people like awkwardly insecure weird and danger then it would be fun until you got targeted and then cry about it. Just pick a good safe neighborhood like Ayala Alabang or somewhere in Visayas and Mindanao and you’ll enjoy The Philippines.
