I think it is fantastic. I am 54, and recently retired in Bangkok. I have lived here almost 4 months. The positives are obvious – cheap to live here, great climate, friendly people, great food, wonderful women. But two additional features stick out. First, amazing people you will meet, both expat and local, which expands your horizons incredibly. Second, I find it liberating to abandon the strict contexts of what we have been taught in our past (work, eat, sleep, behave this way) and forge a new identity and way of life.

High standard living quality then.I met a Belgium retired couple live in the phillippines. They bought a cool boat and set up a diving club there and they just charge really low price for the tourists which seems like they tend to make friend more than make money. I saw them feel kick back and relax taking sun-bathing, kind of happy ever after.
