If you have to ask then you probably have not traveled much if you had you would know it’s the Philippines hands down but since you are not too familiar with living in other countries you would be better off living in Spain where life would be far more familiar to you and you would also be able to travel easy around all of Europe which again will seem far more familiar and comfortable to you . The Philippines will take some getting used to and is very different. It is a tropical nation and their politics is up in the air.

That is a reasonable retirement income in Spain, but it puts you as no more than middle class. In the Philippines it would mark you as a one percenter. In Spain you can own property in your own name. If the Philippines you can buy a condo, which in my opinion is not a very good investment, but you cannot own land. In Spain you will likely find some female companionship close to your own age if you are a single guy. In the Philippines your options are wide open from a young 18 year old to a middle aged Nun who only joined the church as an option to escape poverty, all you have to be is breathing, not smell too offensive, and have a decent income that you will use to support you and your new family. (If you have the means to help her family and don’t, you don’t deserve a Filipina or the family who will treat you better than your foreign family in all likelihood). Spain has a lifestyle more in line with what you would expect in in the US. You will have to learn how to accommodation yourself to a very different lifestyle in the Pinas. Personally, if I were an older single adult American adult, I would go Baja California to settle down. You have the best of both of those countries and are still very close to the US where you can use your medicare, which you can’t use abroad.
