As a foreigner and as a visitor here, remember that you are a guest, and have no say-so in what the government does. Since you don’t pay taxes and are not a citizen, then you have no voice, so behave like a guest. Don’t discuss politics, religion with Filipinos, and reserve your opinion on just about everything. Try not to go out drinking in public and at bars: that’s where alot of trouble starts.

Leave Filipinos alone, and don’t interfere with their existence. If they want to sing karaoke at 1 AM on a Saturday night let them do that. If their roosters crow all night & all day: just suck it up. Welcome to the PH.

Man, how I keep myself in check here is I decided to stop complaining. I been here for 3 years and used to complain about everything: too noisy, bad service in restaurants, everything takes too long, nobody is ever on time – and, on and on. It was starting to get me into trouble, so I just shut up about it, and decided to go with the flow. Now I am happier, and I don’t piss off my neighbours any more.
