I chose to retire from Australia to rural Philippines for a variety of reasons- Pension money goes much further in Philippines.I dont want to finish up in an Australian aged-care (dont care) placeI know that when I eventually become stuck in a wheelchair, that my many good Filipino friends will help me.Continuous warm weather in Philippines. Hate cold weather.Cost of all healthcare in Philippines is very moderate. No rat race or materialism in rural Philippines. Just peace.

-Develop does not always means better. There is a lot to be said about the old days before internet, obtrusive cell phones and 200 channels on TV trying to sell you stuff by hyperboling fears and sad stories. -Cost. Money can go a lot further in a less develop country than in America where everybody gets into your pocket. -Ability to hire people to take care of you as you get older. To get a non-certified caretaker in the USA it will cost you about $20 an hour at least. Very few people can afford that. In a lot of countries $200 a week gets you wonderful care and that person you hire has a wonderful job in comparison with everybody else there. -Sometimes the weather is a factor. Cold is not a friend of old people.
