Is it possible to get Filipino citizenship even after I overstayed for 10 years? Also, I already paid the penalty.

Good luck. I was born, grew up and educated in Medicine in Philippines. Came to USA for medical training and denied re-entry back to Philippines after 2 years in USA. I got permanent resident in less than 2 years in USA as opposed to 24 years in Philippines with no permanent resident eligibility. Philippines immigration is very strict on felllow Asians except for caucasians. You have more or bigger chance if you are caucasians. Its a place just for retirement if you meet their financial requirements. You have to be Filipino citizen in order to work in Philippines. Hence do not hink about working part time. Check website of Philippines Retirement Authority. A lot of foreigners illegaly overstayed there or married locally. If you have dollars you are alwayd welcomed and live a charm life there if you have too much dollars.

You have to search at the website of the Bureau of Immigration and on laws pertaining to Filipino citizenship acquisition by foreigners. Since you overstayed, search for that provision and if there is none, you can inquire from the Bureau or from a legal counsel who is an expert on the matter. there is also the Philippine Retirement Authority that you can search on google and read the provisions to acquire citizenship and you can pose your question relative to your case.
