What are the requirements for taking a pet dog with me if I move to the Philippines from the states? Im aware all state side immunizations should be up to date. Are there immunizations specifically for the Philippines?

I did this. It's a long process! And it's a massive headache that is under specific time constraints. All the information can be provided by the Philippines consulate in your area. You can also check the Philippines government website (it's hard to navigate). You are going to need: SPS Import Clearance from the Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Animal IndustryYou might need a vet clearance from the FDA (in Canada it's handled by the FDA, not sure about the US) after you've done all the vaccinations and dewormingCertificate of Vaccinations for:RabiesDA2PPLVC with LeptospiraCertificate for dewormingCertificate for flea and tick treatmentRecord or certificate for microchipCertificate of health and clearance stating the dog is healthy to flyYou will need to look up the specific time schedule when things must be done prior to boarding your flight. You can't just do things ahead of time, which really sucks. You might have to make several vet visits to complete the requirements. There must not be any cases of rabies within a certain number of kilometers from where the dog is being kept. This also sucks as this could screw your departure if a single case happened a day or two before take off (which happened in my case!) If this does occur, you'll need to quarantine and get clearance from the FDA. You need to take all supporting documents to the Philippines consulate and have them certified which can take two days or longer to process. You must also go and check with the flight company and see what their requirements are when flying with your dog. You must have a carrier that is approved and of sufficient size. You must also make sure your dog's breed is not on their restricted list; such as, brachycephalics. Good luck!

You must have the immunization records & they should be on the vet’s paper letterhead. You need find if there’s anymore things he must have. You should ask before you come if your dog has to be quarantined. Cover all your bases. Don’t leave anything to chance. Are you sure you can enter the country? Will you be quarantined? My 9 month puppy took a flight with me & he was very good. He’s almost 9 months now. We’ve been for 3 weeks.
