No, you cant't, but you should try to ! For obvious reasons, as a foreigner you will stand out visually like a sore thumb, and you can't hide that. BUT, if you keep your mouth shut, stay out of bars, and keep to yourself, you can achieve a sort of anonymity here. Filipinos say: "oh, he's just the American that lives down the street, he's no trouble at all."
