Well, because, it is just the right thing to do as a guest in someone else's country. But their are also practical reasons: if you run afoul of the law, mess with drugs, mess with underage people: you will do prison time – which isn't pretty in the PH. Also, you can get deported and black-listed so you can never visit the PH again. If you run afoul of regular people, you can end up getting shot.
Please briefly explain why you feel this answer should be reported.
Also, since you aren't on your home-turf, you never know who you are stepping to in the PH. Ordinary looking people can turn out to be high-ranking politicians, gangsters & thugs, barangay officials – you just never know. And if you piss off one of these 'high-status' people: it is lights out for you.
