As a Filipino, here are the things that I don't like that foreigners are doing (EDIT: these are just based on my experiences. Other Filipinos may or may not agree with me.): Talking loudly in public. – Maybe, it's their natural way of talking but it generally annoys people.Complaining about the food. – The Philippines is not that vegan/vegetarian friendly as a lot of the dishes have meat in them. It is also oily, and may not be as flavorful or served as presentable as other cuisines. So if you are visiting the country, its best to research on what foods you can eat.Not wearing deodorant/ taking a bath. Some foreigners would walk around smelling like they just got out of bed, or with a B.O. and they are unware. It's unpleasant to be in a public place or public transportation with someone who stinks.Taking advantage of young women/girls. There are foreigners who come to the country just for sex and are targeting young women thinking they are easy. There are young women who sell sex for money, but just so you know, that kind of work is illegal even if people tolerate it.Acting like they own the place. There are cultural norms in other countries that are frowned upon in the Philippines. Please be in your best behavior and learn about the do's and don't's beforehand. Try to learn a few phrases from the local language. Don't cut in line, don't bribe the business owner or the officer just so you could skip the lines or get your way. Respect the men/women in uniforms and don't be arrogant.Being discriminatory. This is more recent. There have been news of the Chinese opening their businesses that cater only to Chinese customers and not to Filipinos – like literally there's a sign at the window saying “for Chinese customers only”. This is unacceptable as it is seen as being racist and a sutle form of invasion. If you want your business to be exclusive, offer memberships. Don't exclude the locals from patronizing your business and make sure to put English signs and an English translation of your services.Entering the Church in the middle of a wedding ceremony. This, for me, is an intimate event and it's only for the couple and their invited guests. If you do come in, please refrain from taking pictures and stay at the pews at the back. Not understanding the food culture. I have had met a couple of expats complain about Filipinos going to team dinners or having to bring sweets to the staff, and see us as always hungry in a negative way. Food is central to events in the Philippines. It is a way for people to gather and socialize, and a way of expressing appreciation, showing care, or celebrate success. It is uncommon for Filipino employers to express gratitude to their stafd for a job well done by treating them out to dinner.

Short Answer: Everything no neck Ed did in 90 Day Fiancé Long Answer: So let's look at the things he did. This is not focused on hating him or his physical appearance, but he just became the epitome of a “persona non grata" type of a foreigner in this land. Sure, there are worse than him. He went to the Philippines in the guise of getting married, but it was later revealed in his confession to his friend that he didn't want to start a new family, you can tell from his words that he just wanted a wife that he can treat as a human blow up doll.He was so condescending and patronizing all the time, as if Filipinos are a different species! Like, when he said “Does anyone here speak English?”, sure, even an elementary grad can speak and understand English here! He obviously didn't research or looked at the English signages around. Also, the way he looked at the poor people's lifestyle. Rose was obviously from a “third-world” poor family but looks at them as if they can afford to treat him like a king. As a future husband, he should have accepted that, or considered that fully before coming here. There are tons of videos that show the hellish side of the Philippines, Rose’s family's condition was even tolerable. He could have done some desensitization practice as prep.He complained about natural things in the Philippines, like the weather that is so hot. Duh! As if there is something you can do about it! As if California wasn't hot! And when he went to the forest he brought plastic which the monkey stole and whined about it! But who's got the rationality between them?He thought that Rose was just after his money, paranoid about losing an amount that is alright to lose even for a poor person! Sure there are women who choose foreigners for economic purpose, but don't just put them all in the same box! Most of them just experienced the worst of life, so they choose a mate that can provide a better life for their offspring even if they're a little difficult. But never think Filipino women don't have self-respect!There is a difference between being frank and being rude. Foreigners think they're cool for being a little bolder than Filipinos, but Ed's kind is way cross the line! Rose didn't have the nerve to humiliate his physical appearance on live tv, yet he complained about her flaws without filter! Now, imagine if Ed is just a Barney-sized virulent foreign monster in the Philippines with a number of mild offensive behaviors, what more the Godzilla-sized with all their powers to do more horrible things, like stealing our lands, waters, jobs, natural resources, family life, women, children, and everything encompassed in our culture and existence as Filipinos? Also those who raped our history and considered our ways subhuman? Not a believer of pseudo-historical conspiracy theories like Maharlika(shit) or Ophir(shit), but I am deeply saddened each era where the rulers of this land is a foreign invader or abuser, and when Filipinos think they're really inferior after all the brainwashing and bastardization, and accepts being taken advantage of.
