There is not much difference if you come to really think about it. The filipino psyche is a collection, or accumulation if you may, of different psyches. There is no unique Filipino trait so to speak. What makes the Filipino, and its traits unique, however, are the ways that other cultural traits find its way to shape what is Filipino. At one time, Filipinos are regarded as a people with an identity crisis. It’s a chameleon that changes its color to adapt to its environment. Even that trait is not unique to Filipinos. Maybe just more noticeable and distinct, Or what else would this group of people be identified with? Let me point out some areas: It is not the only nation that showcases a strong hospitality trait. Many nations are as hospitable if not more hospitable in many respects.It is not the only group of people who are sensitive or insensitive. Many nations are, and many groups of people are. They are just known for other traits as well that stand out than being just sensitive or insensitive.Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Borneo and all the way to Australia are some of its back door neighbors. These nations trade and coexist resulting to comingling of a lot of each other's traits. The Filipinos find it easier to adapt than resist the influences around it. Vietnam, China, Thailand, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Hongkong, are some its front door neighbors. These nations provide impact to the Filipino psyche in much the same manner as its back door counterparts.Europe such as Spain and Portugal, are long time influencers to what will later be called Filipinos (Indios in the beginning). We adapt food, food preferences, food appreciation and tastebuds. We adapt dressings, clothings, fashions, and all kinds of tastes.America (and the rest of the world, actually). These are the friendly influencers. Chocolates and soya milk and anything US made or white for that matter, was beautiful to us. We were lured, addicted, loved, romanticized, charmed, famed, tricked, cuddled, cherished, treasured. Who could resist that?Other asian countries have gone through their own colonization and dark ages too. But the influx of western thought patterns has catapulted this seven-thousand-island nation into a uniqueness that it has now. A little bit of everything makes it so hard to define and yet so sweet to anybody’s taste and liking. Have you ever eaten a louvre de Fluor chocolate de Amore? We taste pretty much better than that. So unique, and yet so common, every one can have a piece of us. Because we have a little bit of everyone in us.

These are the reasons that make Filipinos different from Asians: Filipinos are heaviliy Westernized while Asians aren't.Filipinos are religiously Christian, Filipino pagan, and a mix of both while Asians are Muslims, Shinto, Confucians, and Dharmic.Filipinos are highly sociable while East Asians and people from Indochina are reserved and the people from Malaysia, Indonesia, Mindanao Bangsamoro ARMM Muslims, and Brunei are heavily controlled by Quranic/Islamic laws.Filipinos love American pop culture while Malaysians, Indonesians, Mindanao Bangsamoro ARMM Muslims, and Bruneians are into native/Islamic traditions(No time for modern entertainment and fun. Only Religious Islamic/Native traditions) and East Asians and people from Indochina are heavily into J pop and K pop.Filipinos love humor while Asians are very serious.Filipinos are naive because they are too nice and trusting to their enemies and people who have wronged them. For example is Filipinos being too nice to the terrorists MILF, BIFF, BIAF, MNLF, Abu Sayyaf, and Maute. If these Muslim terrorists from Bangsamoro ARMM, Mindanao were to do their criminal and terrorist bullshit deeds in Asian countries which are not Filipino such as Myanmar and China, Asian governments such the ones from Myanmar and China will surely ruthlessly brutalize these MILF, BIFF, BIAF, MNLF, Abu Sayyaf, and Maute retard buffoons. Even the Mindanao Bangsamoro “civilian”, women, and children! Asian governments such as the ones from Myanmar and China will surely ruthlessly brutalize these MILF, BIFF, BIAF, MNLF, Abu Sayyaf, and Mautes which will send these MILF, BIFF, BIAF, MNLF, Abu Sayyaf, and Mautes crying to their mommies because they have never faced such a ruthless enemy that is UNLIKE the naive and nice Philippines.Filipinos are known to have an extended family such as relatives. This also presents a problem as relatives outside of the Husband-Wife-Children family circle ends up finacially depending on Husband-Wife-Children family circle. This Filipino trait contributes to Filipino shamelessness and laziness.Filipinos love music and singing while Asians are not so much.All in all, Filipinos aren't even Asian. The thing is that it is wrong to think that East Asia, Indochina, The Muslim Malay Archipelago, and the Philippines are one people because we are all VERY different culturally and ethnically. Filipinos aren't Asians and should never be compared to Asians. By the way, I am a FULL Filipino born and raised in the Philippines myself.
