When I rented in a predominantly Tsinoy subdivision. I was left unmolested. But when I moved out to a cheaper house, I experienced crime/annoyance. Why are Phil-Chinese communities left alone by local troublemakers & bad doers?

In Philippines if you are not well to do Chinoy like me, you get deported or denied re-entry when you go abroad. You need to have Philippines citizenship in order to work in the Philippines. I have Philippines Medical license but the law was changed to restricting professional practice to Philippines citizens only hence I was forced to stop practicing medicine there and migrate to the USA. The Chinoys are forced to live and work in their own communities in order to survive. All Tsinoy Chinese schools were ordered closed by the Philippines government since 1974 including the school I was attending. Only USA schools are exempted since the well to do Filipinos and Filipino politicians sent heir kids to study there. Its not Tsinoys subdivision since they all have Philippines citizenship in order to live and work in the Philippines. Your chance of living in the Philippines without Philippines citizenship as Chinese is nil unless you are filthy rich since you can get citizenship with no problem. Local trouble makers work for the Filipinos politicians. They are the monthly due collectors arm for the politicians on Chinese businesses.

You were unmolested not because you were in a mostly Tsinoy community but because you were in a Gated subdivision. Cheaper, lower end communities are not gated, so anyone one can enter, leave, and loiter around, including criminals. If your house looks inviting, then criminals might make it their next target. It has nothing to do with Tsinoys. In fact, they are often targets of kidnappings, because they are more likely to be rich even if many don’t look the part. Pinoys look like a million dollars but have nothing in their pockets other than a cancelled credit card.
