The first and most major consideration has to be your residential location. The traffic in most cities is horrendous and the road network is generally terrible. So the simple process of say getting from the airport or bus terminal to your residence can be nightmarish. Do your homework, which means check routes a couple of times a day. In Manila for example access from the Airport Skyway is a seriously good consideration. You should also check that where you may be living isn't prone to flooding. You could find yourself locked in to an area when it rains heavily. Also are there lots of passing taxis in the area? . You should certainly consider how easy is the access to things like supermarkets, department stores, banks, etc from that location. Very critical. The apartment you choose could be a problem from foreign workers. For example there are now thousands of Chinese workers in the illegal gaming industry who live in Manila who live 4-6 to a unit. They are generally not very clean, don't respect local rules and are less than civil. Avoid those apartment blocks. Check your apartment carefully to confirm actual ownership by sighting the actual documents of ownership, not copies. . Some owners use their units as loan guarantees so you could find you are turfed out when the lender cannot get the loan repaid. If they don't have originals you can be sure the loan shark holds them. Also check very very carefully any claims about internet services. Ideally look for a unit that has fibre and a direct connect to your apartment. The tower may have fibre but does it connect to your unit? Test the speed using va standard speed test when you are in the unit, ideally around 5- 6pm when everyone is using the service. In general this documentation issue is a big one. I bought an apartment with car park only to discover the car park was held by a loan shark. Lucky I insisted on original documents. A general rule, its best to deal with woman. The men are usually on a scale ranging from scammers to useless. But don't fall for all the stories you will hear about urgent medical expenses and the promise to repay loans. It will probably be a lie and even if it isn't that loan will never be repaid. I could go on and on but if you follow these basics it will give you time to learn how wonderful the place is and how beautiful the woman are.

You need to consider your reason for doing so and if they are good ones.If the reason is because you have a Filipina GF there are many potential issues:Has she ever been married? If yes, and she is not widowed, she is still married and you are setting yourself up for 6 years in prison on an adultery charge. Walk away now, because they don’t even have to prove you had sex with her for you to go to prison. If she has kids do not plan on living together until you get married. A common ploy by relatives of those children, even the mothers, is to tell you they will turn you in for violating a provision of the human trafficking law that forbids you from being alone with an unrelated minor, unless you pay a bribe to them. There is currently an Aussie who caught the woman’s own father on video demanding such a bribe, admitting he had no basis for the accusation, and this Aussie is still doing three years in prison after he refused the bribe. what is even worse is he had the arresting inspector admit there was no evidence of the charge and him demanding a bribe to for the incident to go away.If she is under 25 and you want to marry you will be expected to pay for it and that will come out when you negotiate with her parents to get them to sign off on consent and advice statements and she will need one or the other before she is 25.If she is under 18, even if she says she is over, sex between a minor and foreigner is punishable under human trafficking laws which are set up to ignore most sex crimes but harshly come down on those who are trying to help poor people (disrupting the social order in an oligarchy is bad). Are you going to live here as a permanent resident or on a tourist visa? Do you have the cash to put into a bank account for a year as required for permanent residencyHave you visited the Pinas?Do you know where you want to live? What are you budgeting? If you know where you want to live are you learning the best language for the area? In the south that would be Bisaya (and English if you don’t already speak it) not Filipino. Are you prepared for a rice based diet? If not can you afford the diet you want? Can you live with the bugs and the rats. Mosquitoes, ants, giant cockroaches and rats are everywhere, even in nice neighborhoods and even nicer condos.
