Not if you are married… I can't comment across the board, but do know that a whopping 74% of Canadian couples who worked for the embassy filed for divorce if they stayed longer than three years in Manila, between 1996–2016. If you are single and have a good job, this is an awesome country. If you are middle-aged or in a “serious” relationship, this country will provide temptation. Regardless, I came here at 19 years old on a holiday, am now 43 with a lovely wife and a beautiful daughter…I have done well and say that it was a good choice for ME. 🙂

Yes. I do have a friend. Her father is a Navy retiree. Her mother is a retired nurse. They both chose to return to raise their 2 daughters and son here. They lived in high standards in a not so remote town around 450 Km south of Manila. The infrastructure
