How do I tell my US employer that I want to move to the Philippines but still keep my job since my position is remote?

Like the other answer indicated, your employer might not be able to fit you into a tax bracket when you are abroad. What you might do is, rent a mailbox from Fedex Office or UPS Mailboxes Etc. locations (not from a post office) and show that as your US address. Or, even better, if you have relatives living in the US, whom you trust, give their address and have them send you the pictures of mail you get from your employer and elsewhere. As long as your employer is okay with your not being available on a moment’s notice, you can work from anywhere. Albeit, if I were you I would consider getting your pay cut, according to your residence area. Every employer and their relationship with the said employee is different. Check with your HR representative for most definitive answer.

“Hi boss, I want to move to the Philippines and work remotely from there. What do you think?” There is no benefit to overthinking this stage of it. There will be more than enough of that later. Your employer will likely have tax/payroll concerns, as well as the impact of time zone differences on your work (bearing in mind that the Philippines is up to 13 hours ahead of the US). You would do yourself a favour by putting some thought and research into these issues beforehand.
