My PR will expire soon, and my concern is that I have a good job in the Philippines which pays well. Should I gamble and move to Australia?

    You don’t need to move to Australia to retain your PR as long as you can renew it online by paying the fee. Else just take a vacation and be physically present in Australia and renew online. You can then go back to Philippines. It’s a personal choice – I would not risk losing Australian PR.

    Without any background knowledge no can help you take a decision.On the basis of the information you provided I can only suggest you to save your PR. You can take some time off from your current job and stay in Austalia if it help you to save your PR.
