Two common options. You can marry a local. That would enable you to get a spousal visa. You may need to leave and return once to start that process.nd 50 m not familiar with the details. The other is a Special Residential Retirement Visa. This requires a security deposit to be made. If you are between 35 and 50years it is USD 50K. Over 50 with a USD 1000 pension it is 10,000 without it is 20,000. Retired military and a few other occupations it is 1500. Application fee is 1400 and annual fees 360. This is issued by the Philippine Retirement Authority, Google them for more details. There are other categories like investor visa but these are not common. Because of the pandemic, no new visas are being issued and no foreigners with limited exceptions are allowed in. H.

I been living in the Philippines for 2 yrs now and just renewed my visa for 6 more months. To stay here legally, you need to make that trip, also called a visa run. I'm told the cheapest place to go is Hong Kong, and you can hang around the airport for your return flight. This information comes from one of my wife's friends who works in the main office in Manila. It's a lot cheaper to be legal than to overstay and pay fines on top of Visa fees for the time you overstay. Then you stand the possibility of being kicked out and black listed. Good luck to you
