It's going to be perfectly safe. Don't listen to people who say you shouldn't go because there's a war going on – that is only limited and secluded to the North-Western most parts, which is over 1500 KM from city of Karachi, province of Baluchistan and many hundreds of KM from cities of Lahore and Islamabad. Those cities are relatively unaffected, though I would have to say Karachi has its bouts of unstability from time to time but for the most part it is safe (I've lived there for over 25 years). As a first time traveller, you may need to get to know someone inside Pakistan to guide you, possibly show you around a bit so that you get to know the culture and customs. Most people here are extremely welcoming, I've only experienced more friendly folks in my travels to Bangladeshi cities. Pakistanis love to see foreigners and love to go home and tell their folks they met some non-Pakistanis! You'd love the cuisine here, the down to earth people, their stories and their simplistic way of living. An alone woman is not safe in any part of the world and Pakistan is not an exception. Yes, any woman can come to Pakistan but will have to be careful as she is careful in her own country. Pakistan is comparatively a safe country for women. Women are generally revered and respected in every part of the country and in case of any harassment on roads, people don’t hesitate to come to her rescue. Pakistan is the most civilized society if you compare it with any other country, but trouble makers and criminals are found everywhere in the world. A general principle or notion in Pakistan is that: No man can touch a woman unless she allows it to happen.
