You have crossed the neutral zone and have entered into Klingon space! But seriously, there are a few reasons for this ranging from the innocent to the devious: In general in the PH, dating foreigner men is a status symbol for them, so they enjoy showing you off like a trophy.

It is cultural: Filipinos generally grow up in crowded environments and so they are less uptight than westerners about ‘personal space’ and ‘alone-time’, therefore she can’t even understand that aspect of your life.

For the ones in their early 20’s, she is most likely immature, and insecure so she will stick to you like a gecko.

For the older ones above 30 (or even the younger ones that are tricky), this clinginess is also a “smothering-tactic” they use to keep you close, and keep the competition away. Early in the relationship, you must expect that she’ll be all over you like ‘white-on-rice’ wanting to go everywhere you go, sitting right next to you on the couch all the time, following you into the yard when you go out for fresh air. And if you finally manage to shake her off for an hour or two, your phone will ring on the hour every hour for a check-in, and a request to confirm your actual location. Some will even demand that you prove your whereabouts to them with a selfie showing the background. Yup, I am not kidding !
