I’m a foreigner and a graduate of nursing from a university in the Philippines, as a foreigner, you’re not allowed to take the Philippines nurse license exam, however, I will like to move to the US to take the NCLEX, any information will be helpful?

This is not going to be easy. Typically, an international nurse applicant needs a valid nursing license plus two years recent clinical job experience working as a nurse (in the country where they studied, or in the country of citizenship) before they become eligible to qualify to take the NCLEX and apply for a nursing license and a job in the US. Where are you a citizen? Was your original plan to return to your home country and work as a nurse after graduating from the Philippines? CGFNS has a website with some information for Internationally trained nurses who are interested in working in the US. Start by understanding the CGFNS process. Each of the 50 states in the US has a state board of nursing that regulates the licensing and practice of nursing in that state. You will need a license to practice nursing from the state in which you would like to work. Be prepared to pay the fees for each step of the process.

Ask American Nursing Board. I have Philippines Medical license since 1972 and the law was suddenly changed in 2019 voiding all foreigners professional license prohibiting non Filipino physicians to practice medicine. I am not able to continue practice of Medicine since I do not have Filipino citizenship. I am able tp practice medicine in the USA and despite having my medical education in the Philippines. As FMG like other American graduates you need to do residency in the USA and take USMLE..
