Would there be less crime, terrorism and insurgency in the Philippines if Filipinos, like US citizens, had the right to keep and bear arms?

LOL, if anything there would be more! Not sure if you know this, but In my grandads day, beating arms may not have been “allowed” but it was certainly commonplace. Many of my family and friends from that generation usually had weapons of some sort in their vehicles, (some still do, out of habit). Most of those who had any form or bit of wealth we’re afraid to own anything that indicated wealth, because roadside robberies at gunpoint were commonplace, and if guns were involved it usually ended up being a game of numbers ( more thieves with guns means why would you put up a fight. Even if you did outnumber them why would you want to risk getting shot?). In fact even my own family was kidnapped once or twice at gunpoint! Scary!!! With the relative improvement of the pnp, and better enforcement of laws (gun laws in particular), has resulted in a SIGNIFICANTLY safer manila. It’s not perfect, as it is still relatively easy to get guns (but nowhere near as easy as before), which doesn’t remove the outstanding issues. But I would argue that things are MUCH MUCH better off than before. The PNP still has a lot of work ahead of them, and it may not feel like things are getting better, but they are. You just need to look at how things have changed over 10–15 years, rather than 2–5. Progress is slow.

Yes. It was like that, at least a close semblance of it, prior to Martial Law Years. The archipelago has since moved on. It's a very complicated issue, and you can't just reduce it to a mere question or two (just like you can't just say that banning arms to people here in the USA will solve this pernicious gun slaying troubles we are in now). Human beings are complex beings, and not just you happened to be from the Philippines or somewhere else. Societies everywhere have to contend with such related issues one time or another.
