If you were to move to your girlfriend’s parents house when you have that kind of money, they would think you are crazy. It’s also a great way to ruin your relationship because there’s a very high chance you’ll have some conflicts with some of her family members, just from living together with them. You definitely want to get your own house. As for making money, if you trust your girlfriend, you can open a small business together with her. You need to absolutely trust her because as a foreigner you cannot own a business fully, so she will be the owner. If you’re new to the Philippines and South East Asia, you’ll most likely be taken for a ride and your money will disappear sooner than you think. If you’re new I seriously suggest spend a couple years there before investing, see if this girl is really reliable and get to know how things work there. It’s possible and people have done it but it’s definitely a lifestyle investment and there are so many things that could go so wrong. In any case do not ever tell your girlfriend how much money you have or that you have a significant amount of money, because if things go south, you’re going to need that money to get out of there and start anew. If you’re asking this question, chances are you have no clue what you are getting into, so spend a bit of time first.

You don’t give your nationality, but unless you are a Philippine citizen you will be subject to immigration control. Why do so few Americans understand this? After all, it is not simple for a Mexican to rock up and live with his girlfriend in Los Angeles, so why do you imagine that other countries would have different rules? In practice, it is easy for most foreigners to stay in the Philippines for up to six months as tourists. You are free to spend this amount of time staying with family there. You are also free to deposit your money with banks there and earn interest: when I was there the banks offered US dollar time deposits. You would not normally be allowed to take a job, nor to start a business in your own name.
