What is the best city in the Philippines that is safe, relaxing, has a beach front, and is away from other tourists?

My province – Surigao del Sur! 🙂 The whole province is facing the Pacific Ocean. So you can choose from various municipalities/city from north to south on where would you relax. The almost never ending coastline is breathtaking! In terms of safety, the province is relatively peaceful. It is located in Northeastern Mindanao and I swear, if you are looking for serenity, this is the place to be! And yes, this is away from other tourists. Only locals go the beach – usually family gatherings. I saw few tourists but they are most likely residing here already. Just around five of them though. If you decide to come, would be happy to help you. 🙂

Hi! I am from the Philippines. Since the country is an archipelago, it boasts beautiful beaches anywhere in the region. You’ve got a lot to choose from depending on your budget, length of stay, activities you want to do, among others. Among the top islands are Palawan and Boracay – they were recently voted as the best islands in the world by Travel and Leisure magazine (see The World’s Top 10 Islands). Other popular destinations with really stunning beaches are Bohol, Surigao and Cebu. I’ve been to these islands and I must say that it’s safe. Filipinos are known for being hospitable and always willing to help. Additional factor is almost all people can speak in English so you will not have a hard time in communicating with the people.
