My guess would be: only if the gentleman in question were British, American, or Australian. All other nationalities, generally, No. Fellow paisanos, No. Filipinos are usually polite and reticent. Even individuals SO engaged usually prefer online systems or bank transfer. In Tina Turner’s immortal words “American Express will do nicely, thank you.” So, NO. No money during, immediately after, or after the date. Just. No. Whingeing about sick elderly forbears or abodes obliterated by normal weather patterns in the Western Pacific is a clue asking is about to ensue. Ditto sobering sagas of looming matriculation fees to keep a prodigy-of-a-younger-sibling safely behind a desk. Suggest keeping a wide berth. Try Thailand, Indonesia, or from among the three ci-devant états Indochine.

It is not a norm in any country for any woman to ask for money! Some ladies go dutch and pay for their meal too. For a man to pay a woman and agrees to me, means you been scammed!! Run! Soon enough you will be feeding her husband, her children, and her parents!
