As a Fil-Am/US citizen, how long can I stay for a vacation in the Philippines without a Philippine visa? Is it possible to stay longer without a Philippine visa, and how can I go about doing so?

If you still have Philippine citizenship, renew your passport and enter as a citizen. Stay unlimited If you are a former Philippine citizen, take proof of former citizenship with you (Philippine passport or Birth Certificate are the most common) and request a Balikbayan visa when your passport is inspected on arrival. Your spouse and children under 18 can also get Balikbayan visas stamped in their passports if they are traveling with you. (marriage certificate for spouse and birth certificates for children to prove relationship) Stay up to 1 year. Extendable to 3 years. There are also Balikbayan benefits you may be able to avail. Proof of arrangements to leave are still required (return ticket or refundable onward travel ticket is sufficient) Philippine Consulate General Los Angeles California (Blikbayan Visa)Philippine Consulate General Los Angeles California (Balikbayan Program)If you are a former Philippine citizen and wish to be a Dual National (citizen of two or more countries) with Philippine and foreign citizenship, you can reacquire Philippine citizenship at the consulate responsible for your current residence or at DFA Philippine Consulate General Los Angeles California (Philippine Consulate General Los Angeles California) (RA9225 Dual Citizenship)If it is more convenient you can apply for reacquisition of citizenship at BI in Philippines Re-acquisition of Phil. Citizenship (Re-acquisition of Phil. Citizenship) (RA9225 Dual Citizenship)Children born overseas to a Philippine citizen are Philippine citizens at birth. Register their citizenship by filing a Report of Birth Abroad at the Philippine Consulate responsible for your place of residence. This applies even for countries that normally deny citizens the privilege of Dual Citizenship. In those cases, the child is usually required to choose a citizenship to retain when they become a legal adult. For any passport, the expiration date must be at least 6 months after the date of entry to Philippines. If your passport is getting close to this limit, it is time to renew it. You can renew your Philippine passport at a DFA office while in Philippines or check the website for your Philippine consulate for instructions https://www.passport.gov.ph/requirements/passport-renewalIf you would normally be subject to Travel Tax and are a permanent resident in another country (alien or citizen) or an OFW you can show your proof of overseas residency to get a certificate of exemption from travel tax when leaving Philippines after a stay of under 1 year (P200 fee). If you paid Travel Tax when you were entitled to the exemption, you can request a refund (P200 fee), payments can be made and refunds requested online. See the Travel Tax tab at the top of the TIEZA homepage. TIEZA is the government agency managing Travel Tax: Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) Additional information for those who are not former Filipinos or otherwise able to avail Balibayan Privilege Visa on Arrival is a 30 day Visitor’s Visa. Extendable by renewal up to 3 years Readers from other countries can check to see if they are eligible for Visa on Arrival here: Do you need a visa to travel to the Philippines? When you come into the Philippines provided you have a valid passport for at least 6 months you Will get a visa stamp in your passport which is valid for 30 days if you intend to stay longer you have to Go to an Immigration office before it expires i suggest a week before it does , you must have 2 photos and photo copies of your passport of the entry stamp of when you came into the country a copy of thd main bio page of your passport you must also fill in the Immigration form which they Will give you its not hard ok . You Will then be given a futher 29 days again if you wish to stay longer you repeat the whole process but this time you will also need to apply for the ACR card this is your ID card which is valid for 1 year but this time you can get 2 months you can continue to renew for a total of 3 yrs wjthout having to leave the country then before your final visa expires you must book a flight out of the country for at least 24 hrs if you intend to return you must also purchase an onward ticket it’s the law even if you do not intend to use it ,also you must go to Immigration again at least a week before your exit flightquite and apply for an ECC which is an exit clearance Certificate without This you cannot leave the country this is to ensure you have not broken the law in the Philippines since you have been in the country. I know this sounds complicated but it really is quite easy
