Wasn't hard at all. I moved to Bauang for almost two years. 250 north of manila, great. Finances improved, living in mexico now

Not difficult, but you’re a fish swimming upstream. Some American expats that were in the military and are retired like the easy life there. Some natives that retire after a career in the US, head back to retire. I don’t think many young Americans move there for a job or whatever. If you’re thinking of retiring there, consider the government perks they offer that might turn the trick. Retiring in the Philippines: Pros & Cons
