I am afraid i need to ask for some clarification. Do you mean the City of Manila or the Metropolis of Metro Manila? Every one, including us locals, often times refer to the whole metropolis as Manila, forgetting that there are actually 13 cities and municipalities that make up Metro Manila. Even in the city of Manila, rent could vary wildly, depending on location, accessibility, building ameneties, building security. In dollar terms, rent could be from $300 to $600 per month. This also fluctuates in different parts of the Metropolis. In the cities of Taguig and Makati, inside the central business districts for example, trendy upscale condominiums would go for upwards of $1000 a month, while tye same apartment just outside of tye districts could be had for $300. PS., when talking about renting a place, it would pay to ask about flooding. Parts of Metro Manila can flood to about 2 meters (6 feet) and sometimes more, during the typhoon season.

First make sure you can get permanent resident status or citizenship if you will like to stay indefinitely. I was born, educated, and got Philippines medical license. The law was changed in 2019. It is hard for me to migrate back to Philippines since I have USA citizenship and had Chinese visa when I was born in the Philippines. Due to change in law your Philippines professional status or license is also invalidated. China and Korean visa may not be a problem unlike during Mao’s era. It is easy to migrate to USA than to the Philippines. Filipinos can work in the USA but USA citizens can not work in the Philippines.
