I have been residing and holding office in Quezon City since 1989. I hope I know my second home that well. Quezon City is the largest city In terms of land area and population in Metro Manila, the National Capital Region. When in Quezon City, it is worth visiting the Top 2 universities in the Philippines; namely: 1) University of the Philippines (UP) and, 2) Ateneo de Manila University. These two universities produced most of the country’s top caliber lawyers, politicians and successful businessmen. They say, “those who have the brains go to UP and those who have the money and brains go to Ateneo.” Do they say this with pun intended? I make it a point to bring my foreign guests to the University of the Philippines-Dilliman Campus in Quezon City which occupies 493 hectares of government property. The 2.2 km Academic Oval canopied by old Acacia Trees is the site of many activities. Take one round walk amidst century-old trees and you have a good exercise for the day. Quezon City is the focus of government operations. Many government offices and agencies are located in this city. There are 12 TV Stations in Metro Manila of which number, the 7 biggest are located in Quezon City. Quezon City is a haven for shopping, dining and entertainment with its biggest and modern malls. The largest shopping mall in the Philippines and the 8th largest shopping mall in the world is SM North EDSA. With the largest land area, Quezon City provides a lot of ecological parks which residents can easily visit to enjoy solitude and away from hustle and bustle of the metropolis. A visit to La Mesa Ecopark is a must. When you pass by the Quezon City Memorial Circle, be sure to go down to the Museo ni Manuel Quezon, former president of the Republic of the Philippines for whose memory the city was named and the Quezon City Memorial Circle was established. The City has also evolved as a leader in health, medical and wellness centers. It is host to four hospitals with international health certifications. I hope this helps you somehow.
