Why don’t the hospitals in the Philippines allow husband or a family member to be with the pregnant woman when she gives birth?

Well in New Zealand we have husbands with their wife in labour.. so he is present at the birth… It could be something to do with Catholicism.. I am an ex catholic and they don;t want their men to see what women go through with labour.. that is well out of date these days.. Why can;t men be with their wife having a baby.. it is supposed to be a happy time.. Time they changed that outdated practice which went out of here years ago..

Medicine in the Philippines is a bit traditional in that regard. Also mothers' attitudes toward childbirth and pain. But if your wife wants you present, and if it will be a natural birth, I believe it is possible to find a doctor who will agree to that
