I'll weigh-in with (adopted) hometown pride: Dumaguete. From here you can hit Apo Island, cross over to either Siquijor, Bohol, or Moal Boal. All are beautiful beach snorkeling, diving, free diving, beach destinations. If you chose to stay in the Dumaguete area, you can go north an hour to go dolphin watching or take a ferry to Cebu island for Oslob for swimming with the whale sharks. If you head south to Dauin there are ample beaches and resorts. Coron at the north end of Palawan is another trove of outdoor fun.

Are you looking for some land action or some vitamin SEA? If you want an adventure, you can climb up to Mt. Pulag and be one with the clouds. (Photo not mine) If you want to unwind by the beach, you can check out El Nido, Palawan. There are a lot of good travel bundle deals offered for Palawan, so better check those out so you can get a bargain! And lastly… if you want peace and quiet, and a little taste of New Zealand, visit Batanes. Look it up, you won't regret it!
