Arrive in the PI a few days earlier than you told her and get your sea-legs. Get you own place and get acclimated to the lay of the land, walk around etc…Then let her come to meet you near your hotel and spend couple more days in that environment with her BEFORE going to meet her family in her hometown Province or whereever. This puts YOU in the driver's seat. But if you let her pick you up from the airport the minute you land, she will be running the show from day 1, and this sets a bad precedent.
