It depends. They don’t think alike at all. I doubt if you can even predict that, unless you’re very much involved with one. My sister lives in Malaysia with her Malaysian husband. A cousin lives in Hong Kong with her British husband. My aunt stays in the Philippines with her Indian husband. Another cousin lives in California with her American husband. Another cousin lives in Toronto Canada with her Canadian fiancé. An aunt has stayed in Australia with her Australia husband (so many decades ago). My late father’s aunt wasn’t able to go back to mainland China to be with her other kids and Chinese husband because the Mainland was then being besieged by the communists. Another cousin left her black boyfriend with whom she has a daughter and decided to settle in Hawaii. I know she’s now married to a Philippine man. I have other relatives who have relationships with foreigners. Philippine women, like all women, have minds of their own. They will do what they want even in such relationships with foreign boyfriends or husbands. You talk this matter out with your Philippine girlfriend or wife (whoever you may have) and you will get a definitive answer, which answer you find out may even change depending on situations.

I have no experience but I venture to guess, that it depends where the better security of life is. My Filipina friend and her French national husband met in Malaysia. Today they live in France because his career brought him back home. My husband’s friend is a hotelier so they go where his career took him. Another friend, lived in Europe for many years, buy when her Father past away, she had to come back home to take care of the family business . Her European husband decided that they should reside in the Philippines. So I guess, it’s a case to case basis.
