I’m a Filipina. (The photo above is just a filler. Am just trying to break the ice of boredomness. That’s a pic of me this recent halloween.Pick-a-boo!Hehe) Oh well. We have been stereotyped as “easy”. We have been labeled as women who were after GREENCARDS and greener pastures. In short, we are stereotyped as GOLD DIGGERS. For me, this does not only apply to a specific race but majority of women measure a man’s worth by his monetary wealth and assets. So,that’s why men think that most of the women are solely gold-diggers. But hey, aren’t you men, strive hard to be somewhat financially successful and mostly rich so that you can take home a trophy wife as a prize to yourself for all of the blood, sweats and struggles you have been through just to rise up? In traditional sense, man is the provider and a woman is the housekeeper and caregiver of the children. It’s programmed in our human nature as women to select and chose wisely. Men on the otherhand, seeks for women who are visually-looking fertile, attractive and healthy for child-bearing and rearing. Not all,Filipinas are solely after the shimmering shining money you could offer. Those easy/loose women are mostly lazy and they want the easiest and fastest way to alleviate themselves from the misery of their own poverty. They say, when you marry a Filipina, you marry her entire family. Quite very true but please stop the generalization. Not all Filipina have this kind of bullshit mentality. There are strong, independent and compassionate wife material Filipinas who are mostly educated,dignified,well-mannered and God-fearing. God bless. Thanks for reading.

It depends on the foreigner, their experience and how much they’ve traveled in the Philippines. I’ve been going to PI since the mid-80’s and the first group of girls I ever got involved with were mostly bar-girls. There were shop girls near the bars that I became friends with and they would tell me who they decent bar girls were and the ones to stay away from. I found the shop girls to be brutally honest and if you formed a friendship with them, they would watch out for you. Not all shop girls were educated. All came from a poor background and they worked to support themselves, their families in the province or children if they had them. Many worked so they could attend school at least on a part time basis but oftentimes, their salary wasn’t enough. Bar-girls varied. Of course there were those who were in it for the money, there were others who saw their work as a necessary job to live and then there were those who were looking for a companion. I found all. What usually upset me was when a foreigner would talk about a Filipina that he just met as if she were less than an animal. I heard many men refer to them strictly on the basis of sexuality and that was because they had only ever met bar girls. They had never met a shop worker, waitress or girl from the province. Their entire image of the typical Filipina was one based on what they saw bar-girls do. While many bar-girls do sleep with their clients, I can’t recall meeting any that wanted to do that for the rest of their lives, or for any length of time really. They were doing the job as a way to make ends meet. If they could have stopped and gone into a different line of work that would allow them to provide for their families, they would. But their lives turned out the way they did and they made the choices that they did. I’m not here to defend bar-girls per se, but I’m here to say that there are a lot of misconceptions about bar-girls and Filipina women in general. The people that have those misconceptions usually base their beliefs on what they see in bars. That’s an unfair assessment. I’ve written before that for every 1 Filipino citizen that will rip you off or scam you, there will be 999 that will treat you fairly, honestly, and be trustworthy. No matter which country you go to, there will always be scammers. The US is FULL, and OVERFLOWING, with scammers. People try to get ahead and survive. It’s just unfortunate that they have to resort to dishonesty to achieve their goals. Anyway, not all Filipina’s are desperate for money. The ones I’ve met really cared about their partner. They’re not gold diggers. Yes, some are. Some are materialistic but so are many other ethnic groups. They’re hard working people. I love them. I’m up front about it. They’re inquisitive, loyal and dependable people (for the most part. Filipino men are a different subject sometimes)….
