In my humble opinion, I think buying vehicles rented by the public and those used in the construction business are very worthy investments for a retired expat. You see, the Philippines has a booming infrastructure sector in the past few decades. Providing land developers with vehicles that can be used to get raw construction materials would be profitable, indeed. The general working population in the Philippines also commute in a daily basis. Investing in PUV's, such as rentable vans and cars would increase your profit. Sounds good, right?

For expats living in the Philippines as one you can invest in the property but ones in Makati and Manila (Malate) have already factored in the growth the same with Cebu. And its around 3000 USD/PSM. You can put in a term deposit in a bank that gets around 5% a year but is eroded with inflation. I use on offshore broker, and invest offshore as the tax and currency stabilization. The investments are the same as you would get back home. I use Investor trust.
