There are two schools of thought here: (i) go with the cultural flow: let her have her own way, and just wait it out until the storm passes. Give her some space for the first little while, and then slowly increase the ‘honey, I am sorry’ routine. (ii) do not accept it: some dudes I know refuse to put up with it and have told their Filipina g/f’s as much from the start of the relationship. One guy I know told his g/f that the first time she tries that: she is out the door. Instead, he told her that when she has issues with him, she should come to him and they can have an adult discussion about it. His logic is simple: Tampo behaviour is childish, immature and doesn’t solve issues at their root. This approach makes sense to me, but you’ll need big brass cahoneys to pull this off ! If you are a weak-mined girly-man, then stick to option (i) above.
