Really depends on your lifestyle. In Bangkok and other parts of Thailand, there’s no limit to how much money you can throw around partying or living the life of the rich. In the Philippines your options to do that would be more limited and the value for money would be questionable (not to say it isn’t in Thailand). For budget oriented people it depends on how much you’re willing to live in lower quality accomodation, which is available and cheap in Thailand, but you’d have a harder time finding it in the Philippines. Generally accomodation is better value for money in Thailand, and food is definitely better value for money. However, if you’re there to drink and party, Thailand has become very expensive by Asian standards and the Philippines is still very cheap. Electricity is also very expensive in the Philippines. You’d have to compare two specific locations in each, factoring in your lifestyle, to get a reasonable answer.

The currency exchange between Thai Baht and Philippine Peso is 1 Thai Baht = ₱1.65 Peso. I can only speak for Philippines, as I haven't lived in Thailand. On the average to survive a modest living in Philippines, you should be earning at least ₱25,000 – ₱30,000 net/ month. A salary of below ₱20,000 net/ month would be a struggle specially for those who rent, send children to school, and of course have to eat. A comfortable life would start around ₱40,000 net/month, single or combined income for family of 3 persons. Provided you do not have mortgage. Average meal would cost around ₱50-₱60/ person. A meal that cost around ₱500/person is already very comfortable. A typical Hotel Buffet would cost around ₱1000/ person and above. My phone and Fiber Internet cost ₱1,899 for 20 mbps. Doctor check up without laboratory test, would cost around ₱500-₱1000/visit. My water bill cost ₱800/month for 6 people.
