I’ve visited these two countries. Here's what I've observed: The infrastructure in the Philippines is dangerous and old. The traffic and the services there are okay, but sometimes worse. In terms of transportation system, the Philippines is lagging behind. From MRT to LRT. There are lots of time where it broke down in the middle of the station and we have no choice but to walk in the middle of the railroad track. A major problem is the rampant corruption, seriously. I don't look up to your president, he is just making your country worse. Your peso is getting weaker, drugs are getting worse despite the war on drugs, the territorial dispute against China (which I believe is yours but I feel like he's selling your country). He's pro-China. Remember there are lots of project in your country but they are loaned from China. We offer you a loan with low interest rates but he still insists the offers from China which I believe will make you suffer a lot more. It is also kinda sad that you were once an agricultural country where lots of Viet and Thai people study agriculture before but now you're having a shortage of rice to the point that you have to import from ASEAN countries. Meanwhile in Indonesia: I’m amazed by how your president lead the country. Heck, even your military equipment is much advanced tha the Philippines. The slums that I used to see seem to be gone now. The train system is good and congratulations for your new MRT. They've maximized their resources while the Philippines haven’t. I love both of the tourist destinations from those countries but I stayed a lot in Bali where I met my Indonesian girlfriend and later we moved to Japan. Note: Philippines is still a good country, but time will come where everything would change and it will become a progressive country.

Indonesia is surely more developed than Philippines, since they are the only one country in ASEAN that became member of 1 trillion dollar economy and member of G20. In GDP percapita, GDP nominal, and infrastructure, Indonesia also way ahead from Philippines. So, When will the Philippines be more developed than Indonesia? I think it will happen if the Philippines can be more serious in eradicating corruption. The level of corruption in the Philippines is much higher than Indonesia.
