Please briefly explain why you feel this question should be reported.

Thailand seems slightly more developed & less poor than the Philippines & seems to have moved ahead in the last 20 yrs with significantly less poverty than Philippines? Why? Why did Thailand leave Philippines behind?

    The Philippines has very anti outside business laws. Restricts investment. The big growth boom that hit Thailand was there finding & using cheap natural gas. They found there. So low energy cost. That gas is now in old wells. So slowing down now. As there economy is. The Vietnam war was another. Thailand had mass U.S. money pumped into it. That is slowing down also.

    Thailand developed more industry than the Philippines, working as suppliers for Western brands, a bit like Vietnam. As a result they also got more investment from the US, China, Taiwan… than the Philippines.
