The first answer was correct. Except, he’s only talking about Metro Manila and maybe other bigger cities in the Philippines. Assuming that you’re an American or Canadian that are tired of freezing cold, disgusting people and loud and sleepless environment, I’d suggest that you go to the countryside. There, the only drawback maybe the amenities you get from the city but the upsides are a lot like, fresh air, quiet and no bullshit, foods that are no chemicals, beautiful beaches not bitch beach, you can also learn the language faster. That’s all I’ve got for you.

Simple answer: Our country is open to law abiding foreigners who wanted to immigrate or work. Get yourself educated on the place or location where you want to live and work. Learn about the country’s environment, peoples languages, food, sports, transport system, economy, cultures and traditions. One thing that will probably surprise you is that most Filipinos speak english, educated, cooperative, hospitable and are hard worker.
