In my opinion provinces are much safer than metro manila. There are some parts in manila example which ones are safe like Makati but that is not the real Philippines. Three and a half year i spent in province areas and they are much better. Not much crime and the people are more friendly as well. Also less trafic for sure. Even when i had to travel to Manila i use to travel at night. So daytime quickly i visit the places that i have to and as soon as i can usually around 5–6pm i leave and back to province. Now i am talking about Luzon by the way. In visayas and davao i am not sure that it is the same. I was living in visayas region also, that time it was quiet. But since that time i heard many bad news also. By the way it depend if you are foreigner or filipino 😁
