How does the province of Laguna and the town of Sta. Rosa compare with other provinces? I’m an American who is looking to live in the Philippines for 6 months a year. Are the suburbs of Cebu city, a viable option?

I don’t know much about Laguna but Cebu City is a great choice should you decide to move to the Philippines semi-permanently. Cebu City has a good balance of being metropolitan enough to have much of what you need in terms of comfort, and laid back enough to be close to nature like the beach, mountain tops and diving spots. The outskirts of Cebu would have the suburbs you are looking for. It would all depend on your budget. You could also choose to live outside the city but maybe within an hour’s drive. The amenities tho would be different the further away you are from Metro Cebu, i.e., Internet speed would be slower.

Hi! I currently live in Santa Rosa, Laguna. Our city is becoming more industrialized compared to other cities in Laguna. We have A LOT of malls, factories, and subdivisions. Enchanted Kingdom, a well-known theme park in the Philippines, is also located in Santa Rosa. Also, there’s water park in Nuvali Park. I’m sure you’ll love that! Since it’s being developed, traffic congestion is becoming worse. If you’re planning to stay here, I suggest you stay somewhere in Paseo de Santa Rosa or Nuvali. It’s near Tagaytay. You can visit Taal Volcano. 🙂
