If you want a good neighbourhood and you have a decent amount of money, then go for a gated subdivision. It’s going to be safe, and given that the houses there are expensive, it’s very exclusive. High quality houses, quiet, set back from the highway. These include Las Terrazas, Woodridge, Lanang Insular Village, Villa Josephina. There’s plenty of mid range neighbourhoods at varying degrees of expense. That would make up most of the areas in Davao. Bad neighbourhoods: the ones subject to flooding, for example SIR Matina and Agdao.

Davao City is a safer & friendly place to live in. It is clean & entices residents to upkeep the city to be moderately maintained. The city has wider lanes to drive at. It has good beaches, so rich in wide variety of fruits, ( is known to be the Fruit Basket in Mindanao), veggies & ornamental plants. It sells good quality of pearls & indigenous products such as necklaces, earrings, bracelets, bags, paper wallet, lipstick case, fan, pocket organizer, wrap around skirts, sleeping mats, dress & blouses & pants, patadjong— made of batik w/ different designs etc.. My concern is traffic. We used to enjoy loose travel time. Now, it is ‘bumper-to-bumper' drive though it is tolerable still compared to Mla thoroughfares.. And flood problen bec there are more establishments coming & new residents who got attracted, challenged & convinced to live in Davao City! Welcome aboard!
