I dont get how you have come up with the idea that thailand is easy to move around yes the Philippines you have to take a ferry when ever you island hop or a plane when available but in thailand it's by bus or train and if your a long time resident you will have to report to police every time you go out of town as will the hotels will have to report your staying there or risk being fined in the Philippines you dont have to report to any body I dont call traveling in thailand easy having lived in Thailand for over 20 years and in the Philippines for 6 years I consider the Philippines munch easier to travel around and more beautiful and not open to the many scams of Thailand

In first place: Geography: Philippines is distributed over more than 7000 islands. While Thailand consists mostly of one coherent land. Thailand has some small islands, easy to reach and conect. But most people live on the mainland. The important cities and places are well conected by highways and Thailand also has long distance trains. Philippines does not have all that and its difficult to construct and maintain.
