It actually depends on how much pocket money you have or willing to spend but for a normal tourist I suggest taking a taxi to see places in Manila however if you would like to travel outside the city, the best way is to hire a driver who has a vehicle who can take you places. Whenever I would go home, my sister hired a driver for us who would pick us up in the hotel and take us to where we want to go. Also, most Filipinos understand English and that is very helpful.

Plan your trips. Determine what are the places you want to visit, what method of transport, things you’ll take with you and the number of days you would like to spend on each trip. Start with the farthest places you want to visit for example Davao City take a budget airline like Air Asia, Cebu Pacific or PAL from Manila to Davao. Take a morning flight for a 1 and half hour flight to Davao. Allow an hour to take your luggages. Hire a car for two days to get to a hotel and places you want to visit. The following are suggested places to visit whilst in Davao City 1. Crocodile farm 2, Philippine Eagle Center 3. Peoples Park . etc. At night you can go to night clubs or have a sumptous dinner.Second day you can stay one or two nights at Samal island and stay in one of the beach resort. I suggest Pearl Farm Beach Resort. They have beautiful rooms and separate houses wth balcony overlooking the sea, cozy restaurants , gym, swimming pool for children , spa, massage rooms and fantastic beach and scuba diving and snorkling.Trip to Boracay Island is simple. Take a morning flight and you’ll reach Kalibo, Aklan Airport. Take a boat ride to the island. Stay couple of nights. This will be a typical movement I suggest you take in your trips to Palawan, Baguio up north or Laoag Ilocos Norte. Take a flight and hire a car.
