What standing do Filipina women have in Filipino society? Is it like Japan where women are on the bottom?

Pilipino women are tough and strong, and when you come here you will see that they the run the show. They are like swiss-army-knives b/c they can do anything, and they can hustle like its nobody's business. They keep alot of plates spinning: wife-partner, motherhood, employee, running a small business on the side, supporter of parents & cousins & aunts, and the list goes on. Where I live (Iloilo City) in the working-class areas the women seem to run the show, b/c they make more money than the men. There is still a good bit of domestic abuse but the women can still hold their own. My experience (starting with my wife) is that they are not push-overs : don't let the cute little faces fool you.
