As a foreigner who came to Davao for my studies.. I’d recommend some places that was too tourist friendly and sights that gave us a great feeling! Jack’s Ridge- its not your average resort wherein they have just one pool and food outlets but the scenary in the evening is heavenly and you can see the whole city in action!!2. Eden nature park- this has few pros and a bunch of cons. pros:- you have certain rides there to enjoy and a day will go off easy!! Cons:- expensive compared to adventure parks in other countries, quite distant from the mainstream davao city and taxi fare is high (if u dont know local lang and dont have a local guide, its safe to board a taxi). 3. Bone museum- it is in a shabby neighborhood and you will hardly spend over an hour there but the collection is pretty good and worth the trip. If you are up for travel outside davao, but nearby areas, you will definitely have lots of options on your table. There are so many islands nearby of which some are just too beautiful to be in! Some island resorts that I’d recommend:- Isla RetaSunsetMaxima Aqua FunPearl farmBluejazzIf you are interested in trekking and adventures, do visit Mt. Apo when its open. Its a great place to interact with the nature and is worth your time.

Davao is not a particularly attractive city for visitors and not a lot of sight seeing opportunities within the city. Most of the obvious attractions are outside the city proper and include, Eden, Malagos Philippine Eagle Reserve, Samal island, Talikud island with island hopping and diving Some of the lesser known attractions include, Peoples Park and City Hall Japanese tunnel ( with a decent restaurant adjacent) The Bone Collecor Museum GAP Park Palas Verde Golf Club Palas Verde club house in Crocodile Park which has a nice pool, gym, tennis, badminton, bowling , restaurant etc and is open to casual visitors Crocodile Park and Butterfly House- with shows at the weekend. Zip line Jacks Ridge- restaurant, coffee shop, bar and great views over Davao City and Davao Gulf. Mels Food Tour- an interesting half day which covers downtown sights including local markets, museum and decent lunch at the end- and can be taken in the ubiquitous jeepney or aircon van. Mel is a font of local insider knowledge and runs a local hotel (Bahay ni Tuding Inn and Bistro in San Pedro Street.) Castle View, Samal Emars (wave pool, hotel and restaurant) D’Leonor Inland Resort China Town Recommened restaurants include, Swiss Deli ( Matina and Damosa), Tiny Kitchen, Vikings, Pico Bello, Outback, De Bonte Koe, Toscanos. Tsuru Malls include Abreeza (quite upmarket), two S M malls and older, original Malls of Victoria, Gaisano and NCCC. ( Gaisano and NCCC now have new malls in Buhangin- suburbia)
