Hello, I've lived in Quezon City for around 20 years. My best advice would be staying in older, more established districts like New Manila, Scout (Sacred Heart)/Tomas Morato or Kamuning since these areas have a better local police force to resident ratio. These 3 places are adjecent to each other & I grew up there – quite peaceful but very accessible. I loved walking around in those neighborhoods. I recently moved to a gated subdivision/village in Batasan Hills & it's not been easy. There's just too many people (and tricycles), trash & it is not very pedestrian-friendly (unlike places mentioned above). Doesn't feel safe walking outside the village & I've noticed that while there are so many police checkpoints here (we live around 300 meters from the House of Representatives/Congress), the atmosphere is still chaotic (check out the number of road accidents & gun-related incidents in this area and you'll get what I mean). Othe places I recommend as “safer” are Loyola Heights, Don Antonio, Xavierville, White Plains & Eastwood – but again, these are mostly gated residential areas. Hope this helps!

In 2015, the PNP listed 20 crime-prone barangays in Quezon City. You can check the report here. But here is the list: SocorroBatasan HillsBahay ToroBagong Pag-asaGreater LagroCommonwealthHoly SpiritNovaliches ProperOld BalaraTalipapaSouth TriangleNorth FairviewKaligayahanTandang SoraPasong TamoSan BartolomeGulodKaunlaranRamon MagsaysayTatalonI used to live in Barangay Silangan near Barangay Socorro (which is in the area of Cubao near Araneta Center). And I can attest that the place can be scary at night. There a few instances where a robbery happened just next door to me. You have to wonder what Mayor Bistek is doing in his municipal office.
