I married one! 🙂 A long time ago, I had a different preference for men, influenced by the predominantly Asian mindset that fair-skinned people are more beautiful. Beauty for me then was the Caucasian look, and those teenage Mills & Boone stories didn’t help with the ideal man fantasy of having gorgeous blue or green eyes. HOWEVER, all that went away after living in the West for 2 decades. My eyes got accustomed to the ‘exotic’ and I grew my own personal taste that is not dictated by culture. I can now see that beauty lies in every race, culture, skin colour. Personally though, I am more attracted now to tan skin. I just find them more masculine..more sexy. Yet again, there’s a caveat : it should be a total package. I can be attracted to any skin colour if I find them intelligent, with an amazing personality that shines beyond the physical, with a kind, admirable nature perhaps. Beauty is only skin-deep. What remains beautiful long after the physical has faded is the person deep within.

Way back when I was 10, I had a crush on an Indian boy who moved into our neighborhood in the summer. He was 2 years older than me, handsome in my opinion, and he's silent most of the time, except if he's with his bestfriend. Since it was summer, we played a lot in the outdoors. We rode our bicycles together along with our other friends. And the sad part is we rarely talked, but what I like about him is that he shows concern. When my bike's stand was in need of fixing, he just went to my bike and fixed it immediately without me even asking him. I didn't even get to say thank you to him tho lol. And today, I don't know where he is. We lost touch after the summer had ended. But anyway, puppy love at its finest. And also, he looked like Benny The Jet Rodriguez from The Sandlot, except a lil bit darker.
