Live in states wife is filipina and want to buy a house in the Philippines. Anyone else done this?

    It would be in her name. Foreigners can not buy a house but condominium. You can rent a house.

    If you live in the states it wouldnt be wise to own a house in the philippines as the house will deteriorate in time without anybody in it.. unless you put a relative or a caretaker there.. of course if you do that you have to send money for maintenance.. it would be wise to just rent or stay in a hotel if you visit the philippines. But if you will retire in the philippines its a wise investment to buy now as real estate especially land appreciate in price every year. (only the filipina wife can purchase the property)
